Tuesday, September 15th at 7 pm EST [via ZOOM] A Rising Nation: A Guide for Priestesses, Priests, Practitioners & Community Members A Rising Nation is an African-centered class focused on ethics, accountability, professional conduct, and healthy relationships within our spiritual and healing communities. As African-centered spiritual practices continue to grow, we must also establish clear standards for how practitioners, healers, priestesses, priests, teachers, students, and community members relate to one another. Spiritual authority should never be used as an excuse for exploitation, manipulation, abuse, inappropriate sexual relationships, financial misconduct, or the violation of personal and professional boundaries. This class explores the ethical relationship between practitioner and client, teacher and student, spiritual leader and community member, as well as relationships between fellow practitioners, priests, priestesses, and healers. We will discuss boundaries, confidentiality, consent, conflicts of interest, misuse of spiritual authority, accountability, and the responsibilities that come with serving others. But A Rising Nation is not just for practitioners. Community members also need to understand what ethical spiritual and healing relationships should look like. Knowing the standards expected of those who serve the community can help you recognize red flags, inappropriate behavior, manipulation, predatory conduct, boundary violations, and abuses of power before serious harm occurs. This class is designed to help us create spiritual communities in which both practitioners and the people they serve are educated, empowered, protected, and accountable. Who Should Attend? This class is for anyone participating in African-centered spiritual, healing, or wellness communities, including priests and priestesses, energy healers, spiritual practitioners, wellness practitioners, teachers, students, clients, initiates, community leaders, and community members. All Ra Sekhi alumni are strongly encouraged to attend. If we want to build a rising nation, we must create communities where our people can seek healing and spiritual guidance without becoming vulnerable to exploitation or abuse — and where those entrusted to serve understand the responsibility that comes with that trust. Healthy communities require standards. Spiritual leadership requires accountability. And keeping our community safe is everyone's responsibility.
